“Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
So, there is something about this little park that feels a bit Alice-in-Wonderland magical to me. It looks different every time we visit (and we visit often). Something new is always in bloom through the spring and summer, so the wonder of discovery is always fresh, here. There are no swings, or slides, but out of the zillion parks here that have those in abundance, this one is my littles’ very favorite (and mine). It’s quiet, with so many lovely things to take in, and talk about. Or just soak in, while your daughter reads, and your sons show you fascinating leaf specimens (and bugs) they find nearby….

“Lastly, she pictured to herself how this same little sister of hers would, in the after-time, be herself a grown woman; and how she would keep, through all her riper years, the simple and loving heart of her childhood: and how she would gather about her other little children, and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of Wonderland of long ago: and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life, and the happy summer days.”
