Talkin’ wide leg pants + color combos, today (my favorite!!). Trying to wear current runway trends can be scary, but going for some fresh, runway color combinations is the eeeeeasiest way to “update” your style game. Wear your same classic pieces, but in fresh new color pairings. And walla! You’re fashionably current.
Now. The wide leg pant. These gorgie gals are a welcome change from your go-to skinnies. To keep them mod and current, go for a higher waist, and dress them down as much as you can, so you don’t go boring corporate. In the runway world, the slouchier and wider the better, and they’re often paired with very casual shoes, like Birkenstocks, sneakers, or flatforms, with a slim, sporty turtleneck, or a slouchy sweater (for a very slouchy, do-you-have-a-home-to-go-to-sir-ma’am? kind of way). All that to say, I did not take mine to the runway extreme, but I did dress her down a little with some western chambray and rugged shearling, and tried a new color combo that took my notice during New York Fashion Week: Rust + Poppy Red. Rust was everywhere for runway fall/winter – mainly paired with deep plums and burgundies, but I also liked the subtle contrast, and newness when paired with a bright, cheery red. Hard to tell in my photos, but my lips and shoes are poppy red. Told ya, it’s subtle…
Denim Shirt: AEO (very similar) | Shearling Bomber: Mango (similar + love this) | Wide Leg Pant: Elevenses via Anthropologie | Nashelle Necklaces: Bar + Identity | Geometric Ring: Nashelle | Sunnies: AEO | Red Pumps: F21 | Lips: NARS in “Heat Wave”
Those wide leg beauties are an absolute dream, by the way. I shopped these, and several more wide-leg dreams for ya, below. 😉
Happy shopping, and new color-combo pairings, my friends!
