I love that song by Etta James! And I love this vest, gifted by my darling, generous, always Sunday-kind-of-love givin’ husband. 😉 So, this is what I wore to church this past Sunday…. Winterized a fall/spring dress like ya read about.
Turtleneck. (check)
Shearling. (check)
Better-than-pants, over-the-knee boots. (all.winter.long.)
Boom.
Dress: Mango | Turtleneck: Halogen x Nordstrom | Shearling Vest: Designers Remix | Necklaces x Nashelle: Identity + Curved Bar | Geometric Ring: Nashelle | OTK Boots: Stuart Weitzman | Sunnies: AQS | Lips: Albeit x Anthropologie in “Bare Rose”
Later on Sunday, we went to our friends’ house, all decked out in our finest, to watch the Golden Globes. And I have to say, I was surprised (kind of) that I knew only a few of the celebs, shows, and films. Just a few!! Which officially confirms that I’m getting old(er), and don’t get out much. But ya know what? After watching ungracious, self-centered, acceptance speech, after acceptance speech (with the exception of JLaw – I love her), I was glad that I don’t get out much. I mean, I dooo wanna get out more (really, really, I do!!! SOS, white flag, “Uncle,” etc…), but more in terms of dates, travel, and anything that takes me away from the kids, and rescues me from the Real World for a little while. You know, super selfless stuff. Insert barred teeth, “I just heard what I just said,” JLaw (Eeeek!! I’m so JLaw right now!!) smile. K, guilty, too. Whatevs, celebs.
Cheers to a Sunday-kind-of-love, freely given by those dear ones in our lives that love us anyway.
xx -Carrie
