I am feeling purple hues like you read about, lately! I love the whimsy of lilac, anchored with a deep, serious bordeaux – especially in the summer, since it’s kind of unexpected. I also like playing matchmaker with pieces in my closet that have never met. It’s fun to be a little irreverent with ladylike pieces, such as the silk, floral top I’m wearing in this look. I just wanted that girl to play G.I. Joe, or at least take her Barbie away for a minute! Distressed denim shorts, an oversized linen vest, and boyish wayfarers give a little tough, tomboy-edge to the primness of the silk-floral and polished pumps. No Barbies, tea parties, or scones for her, today! She won’t admit it, but I think she likes it?
