I had the recent honor of getting a private tour of Anthropologie’s newly expanded store in Portland, Oregon. I learned about the enormous undertaking, and efforts that went into making this Anthro’s largest store in the entire United States (only one other is slightly larger in London). Construction began back in October of 2015, but the furnishing and staging of the gigantic space took place a mere three weeks before the pre-opening party on March 10th (wowzers!!). A team of 90 specialists were flown in from all parts of the U.S. and Europe to design and create the many different spaces that are now beautifully housed and displayed in this new store-palace….

This store boasts a lot of “Anthro Firsts,” such as, full-scale living, dining, and bed rooms (12 to be exact), a full-out beauty department with over 800 bath, body, skin, hair, and fragrance finds (complete with a beauty specialist at your fingertips!), a full shoe department, with the largest shoe selection Anthro has to offer (with over 300 different pairs to choose from, it even outnumbers Anthro’s online selection!). They even have a Design Center where you can consult with an interior specialist for expert advice on any type of home renovation. Getting married? You can build the registry of your dreeeeams, easy-peasy, with one of their registry specialists. Last, but definitely not least, this mother-of-all-Anthro-stores is also boasting its first, full-out Intimates Department, featuring both niche and notable designers from Europe and beyond. All of this, is topping a massive selection of home goods, apparel, and accessories that could seriously have you shopping and discovering something new for days and days on end. Needless to say, it is one incredible, decadent, glam, creative, whimsical, spell-binding space. Prepare to be inspired….
