As the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week continues this week, I’m sitting down to write about the beauty trends I’ve seen this past week. I just want to give a shout out to style.com for allowing this beauty stylist to experience fashion week from KY! Being able to see up-to-the-minute updates on each show has been phenomenal.
HAIR
Let’s first discuss that straight across bangs are coming back!! Yes, the middle part and deep side parts are still present and ever glamorous, but BANGS/FRINGE – whatever you’d like to call them – are coming back. Good thing, because I brought mine back not too long ago.
If you aren’t ready to dive into the bang rave head-first, you have plenty of options! One of them is bang extensions…. yes, you read that right! Here are a few options I have shopped for you (love this option, too, but couldn’t add it below).
Right before Christmas, I posted a tutorial for soft, Hollywood glam waves (you can find that post here), and this past week, multiple designers have used those waves in their shows!! So be prepared to to start practicing those curls. Here are a few different “looks” of a glam style. First – is soft, with volume at the scalp. Second – sleek, with more volume in the curls instead of the crown. Third – is the ever-so-lovely bob and beach wave! There’s so much volume all around.
MAKEUP
On to makeup from the runway! This fall season is going to be filled with natural pink/peach hues for day wear, and smokey smudged looks for evening. The only thing surprising to me is that liner and mascara are few and far between for these looks. It also looks as if our brows might be taking a break from all the filling in.
I am also crushing on these subtle lip colors! Check out these lipsticks that will be perfect for you.
