Putting together a Style Guide after fashion week, always feels like some sort of massive dissertation to me. Hours of show viewings, meticulous note-taking, and then, finally, organizing, compiling, and the tedious work of downloading/uploading and crediting pretty much takes over my life. Although it’s a massive undertaking, I really do enjoy the process of studying designers’ months-worth of work, and I also love seeing categories of trends emerge from each designer. It’s like a fun, gigantic puzzle. I also love style guides for two reasons: 1. It helps me to shop smart now, knowing what’s ahead, and 2. It’s a great reference to come back to when the season starts. I often re-read my own style guides to gain in-season style inspiration – especially trending colors and fresh color combos (see my Style Guide Spring 2015 for current inpso, if you like).
All that said, Fall/Winter 2015 is looking pretty groovy, dudes. While most designers did not fully embrace the 70s in their collections (if at all), there was a decidedly heavy, 70s-bohemian, as well as polished, 70s-prepster influence in many collections. Because I didn’t cover/include most of the heavily 70s-influenced collections, I just wanted to note that it will be having a moment in the fall – in obvious and subtle ways (I just prefer the more subtle ones).
If I could sum-up Fall 2015 using just a few key words, it would be: Fur (fur everything), Layers (tons of them, styled in interesting ways), Statement Details (taking looks to another sphere), and Color (loads of gorgeous, bold color).
I think you’re gonna love what fall brings….

Have you ever seeeen so much color for fall/winter?! It’s usually a sea of black, grey, blah. Sooo excited to see all those gorgeous hues! And I didn’t even list them all – dusty, grey-blue is also having a moment, as well as bright, scarlet-red.
Hope you found (and find) this helpful! I know it’s a lot to go through all at once, but it will always be here whenever you’d like to reference.
