So, in case overalls and Birkenstocks weren’t junior enough, backpacks were also added to the mix as a major trend this spring. They will also continue to be one of the new “It” bags this fall. After trying overalls (not so bad!), this trend is a piece of cake. They come in all kinds of grown-up materials like leather, pony skin, and shearling, and there are tons of sleek, sophisticated styles from which to choose. I tend to shy away from “investing” in trendy pieces, so I was thrilled with this $58 backpack purchase! It’s faux leather, but doesn’t look it; it’s super supple, and can definitely hold it’s own with its higher-end counterparts. Plus, it’s practical! It just might be my new Mary Poppins bag – I’m sure I could squeeze a lamp or two into those roomy recesses…
