So, electric “rave-inspired” prints are currently trending, and are expected to be a major trend this fall. But before we get into all that, I, personally, want to make something really clear about this trend business. I could honestly care less if what I’m wearing is “on trend,” or not; I’m too old, too busy with farrr more important things (like my precious family!), and too confident in who I am to give that a second thought. I wear what I like, and if it happens to be something that is 8-plus-years-old, and wayyyy out of season, I’m proud to rock it like nobody’s biznass. And I think this should be the case for everyone, all the time.
That said, I love trying new things – especially things that help me to step outside of my comfort zone. Trends do that for me; they get me to think about something in a new way, and it’s kind of a fun challenge to see how I want to interpret it – if I want to interpret it; there are some I just won’t try (Birkenstocks, case in point). That’s the most beautiful thing to me about fashion; it’s meant to be played with, experimented, explored, and turned into something that is uniquely You. And it’s meant to be fun! If you’re having fun, it’s obvious, and it’s beautiful to behold.
As the lovely Audrey Hepburn once said, “Happy girls are the prettiest.” So true.
